)
"On 1 March 2017, the Sportforce+ was fitted on an S1000R.
Let us see how a super sport tyre available at an attractive price can fight!
2 March 2017 – the 1st ride!
Air temperature 8.5°, tarmac 6.2°, tyres cold 8.2°
Inflation pressure REAR 2.60, FRONT 2.35
After 25 km on the home-course curves the middle section 31.1° and the sidewall 36.2°
Slightly roughened up to the edge, yet an outstanding grip!
After a round (250 km) at cuddly tarmac temperatures of 16° and 20° I can say Mitas Sportforce+ is convincing.
A "Yamaha R1" fitted with Michelin Pilot Power 3, a "Honda CBR 1000 RR" with Metzeler M7RR, an "Aprilia Tuono" with Metzeler Roadtec 01 and a "BMW S1000 R" fitted with the Sportforce+ took part! There are no downsides, the tyre is fast at high temperature (53°), provides an exact feedback, is highly manageable and easy to steer. Corrections (if necessary) are carried out slightly better (faster) with the Sportforce + than with the Conti Sportattack 3, however, slightly worse than with the Bridgestone S21. They both belong to the premium class; in the light of foregoing, the Mitas tyre should be praised. 5 March 2017 and 330 km with the Sportforce+! There is hardly any tyre wear and tear noticeable. On 17 March 2017 – the Mitas Sportforce + made its initial 1,000 km. Conclusion: in spite of lower temperatures (8° to 17°) the Sportforce+ keeps going. No uuupppps-experience in spite of a "sporty driving style"! Since the tyre does not contain silica, it is not supposed to be that good in rainy weather. Well, yes and no. Yesterday when it was raining, it perfectly kept up with a Tuono fitted with Metzeler Roadtec 01! The Sportforce+ has a very hard carcass, which leaves one with a great feeling. The measurements of tyre tread MIDDLE/THIRD/SIDEWALL! NEW: 5.7mm/5.2mm/3.1mm. After 1,000 km: 4.3mm/4.5mm/1.8mm!
After a test ride of 1,700 km, I would clearly recommend purchasing this tyre. The tyre behaves perfectly in the dry (at almost all temperatures), yet in the wet it shows certain limitations – just like any other tyre. The inflation pressure was repeatedly corrected downwards: rear 2.40 and front 2.20 (cold). A very low tyre tread wear despite a high grip! I was amazed at what this ‘’low-cost tyre’’ delivers."
